Hello everyone,

The purpose of this guide is to promote a sense of assurance and certainty within the community. If you have ever had a question on how to create a strong, secure password for either personal or gaming use; please read this guide.

Let’s all take responsibility and make this the first step of using the internet with more confidence.

Please remember that neither the moderation team nor XGen staff will ever ask you for your password or tell you to change it. Please report phishing or scamming to the moderation team appropriately.

The Making of the Password

  1. LengthPlease make your password as long as possible! If the system you are using provides you with 20 characters to make a password with, please use the entire 20 characters to make your password. Longer passwords make it harder for devious individuals to crack.

  2. Avoid Dictionary WordsPlease do not use words that are found in any dictionary. Do not use words that are plain, simple, or even your name. These words are the easiest to guess and crack. Recent advances in technology that criminals use to crack your passwords scan the dictionary and even simple practical names.

  3. Capital Letters, Numbers, and SymbolsPlease use these components in your password! These elements in your password are most effective when it comes to blocking thieves from getting into your account. Use them as much as possible!

Tips to Prevent Intrusion

  • Multiple PasswordsPlease DO NOT use the same passwords for multiple websites! In the case of intrusion, nefarious individuals will try any means of breaking all your passwords with the same password.

  • SecurityPlease DO NOT give your password out to anyone! Do not give your password out to anyone. Not even your friends can be trusted. Do not let your trust become your greatest downfall. Moderators will never ask for your password or tell you to change it!

Phishing Attacks and Scamming
These words have been used interchangeably considering the similarities between both words. Here is how to distinguish one versus the other.

  • Phishing is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

  • Scamming is a fraudulent scheme performed by a dishonest individual, group, or company in an attempt obtain money or something else of value

In the case of an individual or entity trying to scam or phish your account. Please report to the moderation team with all the evidence as possible (recordings, screens, etc.)

Verifying Emails
Please verify your account with (http://www.xgenstudios.com/play/stickarenaclassic). In the case of memory loss or possible theft, verifying your email is a secured method of recovering your password back.
